On the basis of the conducted research the NetMarketShare published data on the global distribution of desktop operating systems. The report says that the share of market presence of Windows 10 in April 2019 continued to grow gradually and increased to the level of 44,10 %, whereas in March this indicator was equal to 43,62 %.
Despite the fact that the share of Windows 10 is gradually increased, the main competitor of the operating system remains Windows 7, which lost for the reporting period quite a bit. In March, the share of Windows 7 was made of 36.52 %, in April it decreased to 36,43 %. Dynamics of changes in the prevalence of operating systems shows that in spite of all the efforts of Microsoft, users are not in a hurry to move to Windows 10.
This situation can not suit Microsoft, so the company tries to motivate users to speedy transition to Windows 10. Over the past few years the developer had made several attempts to push users to upgrade to Windows 7 later. For example, not long ago, users got a notification that operating system support is ending and should think about switching to a more modern platform.
In a study of NetMarketShare discussed other operating systems, whose share during the year practically did not change. The third place on prevalence is Windows 8.1, the share of which made up 4.22 %. Behind her with a share of 2 % is Mac OS X 10.13.
